The dogs love Chris's salty head. Just look!

Chili Cookoff in O.B.
Last month, we went with our neighbor to the OB Chili Cookoff. They had a bunch of booths where you could get "shots" of chili in exchange for a ticket. Chris was quite gaseous after this event.
Dog Whisperer Comes to Petco!
There was a mob scene at Petco a coupla months ago. Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, was in town. There were hundreds of dogs waiting on line to be "whispered," or to have their pics taken with him. I tried to fill out an app to get PenLie on the show, but I needed some video footage of them. That's back when we didn't have a camera...
Oh well.

Lean on Ollie...
Penny and Ollie have a love-hate relationship. They're either chasing each other around the house, or else they are doing adorable things like this. As I write this, Penny is barking at a sleeping Ollie. And at the dog park, they run up to strangers together, hoping for attention and affection. Aah, sibling rivalry...

Pimp Yo' Pup
I had a few minutes to kill while I was waiting for a friend today, so I popped into Pet People. Of course, I couldn't resist a purple studded collar for PenPen (her pink one was looking a bit shabby, since she wears it EVERY day). I just hope she doesn't hurt Ollie with those killer spikes!

We need Nanny 911!
So we have finally decided to get Ollie and PenPen off the wee wee pads. Or, I should say, I have decided to do this, and Chris has no say! The problem is that we were both working when we got Ollie, and we didn't consider getting a dog walker at that time. So he was left unattended for long periods. We figured that wee wee pads were the answer. Sure, if you like for your house to smell like POO!
So, for the past two years, we have been spending $30 for 80 pads (about a week's supply). This is a lot of garbage, and a lot of poo-in-the-house. Not to mention, a LOT of money! Of course, there was the occasional, miss-the-target poo or pee, and we would inevitably have to clean the floor with Nature's Miracle after picking up said pad. Yeuck!
After watching 100s of Dog Whisperer episodes, I figured it was time to "rehabilitate" Ollie and Penny, and to teach the old dogs something new. It's not so hard, as long as we are consistent. However, Chris thinks it is impossible. I have faith in dog-kind and I know that they can learn. So we are never leaving them uncaged or unattended, and we are taking them out to the back patio five times a day. I think Chris was harder to re-train than O&P could ever be!
Wish us luck!
